Once you can consistently finish races without crashing and get a few clean stages under your belt, you can then upgrade your car. A low-powered FWD (front-wheel drive) is a good idea to start with. If you want to improve at rally driving, driving slower cars at first helps you learn and get a good grip in the game. Your best bet is to start with less powerful motors to get lots of practice in before moving on to the big leagues.
